Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. One of her first Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working alongside famous directors and actors both on screen and in television. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platform. Ashford is set to return in 2023, and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which created Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. Ashford appeared for two seasons in the CBS popular comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role in the role of Essie. Also, she has performed on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original role in the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Ashford has been brought up in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles and New York.
