Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for a number of years. She was raised by her mom throughout the USA she faced a lot of racial taunts and made her feel being a bit unpopular. It was during her ninth grade that she gained confidence after being highly praised at an audition. Not only did she gain confidence from the experience, but she also changed career goals. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. Her biggest break came with the role of The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the first Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her role. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more appreciation. She is known as a performer and released her own single and an extended show. She is an activist who works tirelessly for LGBT equality.
